Dr. York  The Musician has recorded with Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, The Delfonics, McFadden & Whitehead, and Evelyn ‘Champagne’ King and has been said to have ghostwritten songs such as “Love Train” by The O’Jays, “Wake Up Everybody” by Teddy Pendergrass, and “Ain’t No Stoppin Us Now” by McFadden & Whitehead. He also performed as lead singer in his own groups: Jackie and The Starlights, The Students, and Passion.

Dr. York had a rich history as a musician, singer and producer from the late 60′ through the 80′s including working with Evelyn King. He produced arguably one of the best Roller Skate jams ever on his Passion records label called Skate-N-Shake, In 1989 he also remixed and released Afrika Bambaataa’s Planet Rock, “the second coming” featuring Jungle Brothers.
